2020 GENERAL Election Public Notice

All Canvassing Board Meetings are open to the public. 

                                  

BOOK CLOSING DEADLINE

The Registration Books will close Monday, October 5, 2020 for the November 3, 2020 General Election.  The Registration Book Closing Date is the statewide deadline to register to vote OR change your political party affiliation if you are already registered to vote.  For first time voters in Florida, a completed voter registration form must be in the Supervisor of Elections office or postmarked, by the Book Closing Date.  If you have relocated from another Florida county to Holmes County, or relocated within Holmes County remember to change your address with the Supervisor of Elections office as soon as possible. 

 

PUBLIC TEST OF VOTE TABULATING EQUIPMENT 

The Holmes County Canvassing Board will convene in the office of the Supervisor of Elections, 201 N. Oklahoma St., Ste.102, Bonifay, Florida, at 9:30 A.M. on Friday, October 9, 2020.  The Canvassing Board is convening for the testing of the ballot tabulating equipment to be used for the November 3, 2020 General Election.  The Canvassing Board may also discuss other matters relating to the November 3, 2020 General Election.  This meeting is open to the public. 

 

EARLY VOTING DATES AND TIMES FOR 2020 GENERAL ELECTION 

Monday, October 19, 2020 through Saturday, October 31, 2020 8:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M.

Sunday, October 25, 2020 – 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. 

Early voters will have reserved parking in the rear of the courthouse.  The back door to the Supervisor of Elections office will be open during the Early Voting hours.  If you choose to come through the main (front) entrance of the courthouse, you will be required to exit through the back door of the courthouse.  There will be no entry or re-entry available to the main part of the courthouse from the Supervisor of Elections office which is located in the basement of the courthouse. 

 

DEADLINE TO REQUEST VOTE-BY-MAIL BALLOT 

The deadline to request a Vote-by-Mail ballot for the 2020 General Election is Saturday, October 24, 2020.  You may request by calling 547-1107; at www.holmeselections.com; by mail or in person at 201 N. Oklahoma St., Ste. 102, Bonifay, FL  32425

Official Ballot Drop Box will be located at our Early Voting Site: Supervisor of Elections Office, 201 N. Oklahoma St., Suite 102, Bonifay, FL.

VERY IMPORTANT:  Please make sure that your signature on file in the Supervisor of Elections Office is current when voting by mail.  Florida Statute 101.68 requires that the signature on the vote-by-mail voter certificate must match the voter signature on file in the Supervisor of Elections office. 

 

CANVASS VOTE BY MAIL BALLOTS 

The Holmes County Canvassing Board will convene in the office of the Supervisor of Elections, 201 N. Oklahoma St., Ste. 102, Bonifay, Florida to canvass vote-by-mail ballots on the following dates:

            Monday, October 12, 2020 at 9:30 AM

            Monday, November 2, 2020 at 9:30 AM

            Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 4:00 and 6:00 PM 

The Holmes County Canvassing Board will convene in the 1st floor courtroom of the Holmes County Courthouse, 201 N. Oklahoma St., Bonifay, Florida to canvass vote-by-mail ballots on the following dates. 

Monday, October 19, 2020 at 9:30 AM

Monday, October 26, 2020 at 9:30 AM             

 

Vote-by-Mail Certificate Envelopes for the 2020 General Election will be available for public inspection one hour prior to each Canvassing Board Meeting.  In order to view Vote-By-Mail ballot certificates on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 after 4:00 PM, you must be present. 

The Canvassing Board will convene on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 4:00 PM to canvass any overseas ballots received and to certify the 2020 General Election to the Department of State.

 

CANVASS PROVISIONAL BALLOTS/VOTE-BY-MAIL CURE AFFIDAVITS 

The Holmes County Canvassing Board will convene in the office of the Supervisor of Elections, 201 N. Oklahoma St., Ste. 102, Bonifay, Florida on November 5, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. to canvass provisional ballots cast and Vote by Mail Cure Affidavits in the 2020 General Election. 

 

AUDIT OF 2020 GENERAL ELECTION VOTING SYSTEM 

The Holmes County Canvassing Board will convene in the office of the Supervisor of Elections, 201 N. Oklahoma St., Ste. 102, Bonifay, Florida on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 9:30 AM to conduct an audit of the voting equipment used in the 2020 General Election.

2020 GENERAL Election Public Notice

 Important Message to all Voters:

  • For everyone’s protection, we ask that you wear a mask when going to vote in person during Early Voting or at your polling location on Election Day. ( Masks are required to be worn when entering the Courthouse, per Administrative Order #2020-00-11 Amendment 1, signed by Christopher N. Patterson, Chief Judge, 14th Judicial Circuit.)
  • Please observe 6ft. social distancing at all times.
  • We will have masks, hand sanitizer and wipes available if needed.
  • If you do not feel safe or comfortable voting in person, please call the Election's office at 850-547-1107 to request your ballot be mailed to you, or go to www.holmeselections.com to request a mail ballot. Deadline to request mail ballot to be mailed to you is October 24th, 2020.
  • Make sure our office has received your voted ballot by 7:00p.m. Election night
  • You or someone else may drop off your ballot at our office.
  • Official Ballot Drop Box will be located at our Early Voting site: Supervisor of Elections Office, 201 N. Oklahoma St., Suite 102, Bonifay during Early Voting
  • EARLY VOTING  Dates and times

Monday – Saturday October 19th through October 31st 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.,

Sunday- October 25th 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • If returned by mail, place ballot in mail by October 26th  to ensure delivery to us.
