2024 Presidential Preference Primary Election Public Notice

All Canvassing Board Meetings are open to the public.

Vote-by-Mail certificate envelopes for the 2024 Presidential Preference Primary Election will be available for public  
inspection by appointment 30 minutes prior to each Canvasing Board meeting.  In order to view VBM ballot 
certificates on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 after 2:00 pm, you must be present.    

 

BOOK CLOSING DEADLINE

 

The Registration Books will close Tuesday, February 20, 2024, for the March 19, 2024 Presidential Preference Election. The Registration Book Closing Date is the statewide deadline to register to vote OR change your political party affiliation if you are already registered to vote. For first time voters in Florida, a completed voter registration form must be in the Supervisor of Elections office or postmarked, by the Book Closing Date. If you have relocated from another Florida county to Holmes County or relocated within Holmes County remember to change your address with the Supervisor of Elections office as soon as possible.

 

 

PUBLIC TEST OF VOTE TABULATING EQUIPMENT

The Holmes County Canvassing Board will convene in the office of the Supervisor of Elections, 201 N. Oklahoma St., Ste.102, Bonifay, Florida, at 9:30 A.M. on Friday, March 1, 2024. The Canvassing Board is convening for the testing of the ballot tabulating equipment to be used for the March 19, 2024, Presidential Preference Primary Election. This meeting is open to the public.

 

 

EARLY VOTING DATES AND TIMES FOR 2024 Presidential Preference Primary Election

 

Saturday, March 9, 2024, through Saturday, March 16, 2024, 8:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M.

Sunday, March 10, 2024 – 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M.

Early voters will have reserved parking in the rear of the courthouse. The back door to the Supervisor of Elections office will be open during the Early Voting hours. If you choose to come through the main (front) entrance of the courthouse, you will be required to exit through the back door of the courthouse. There will be no entry or re-entry available to the main part of the courthouse from the Supervisor of Elections office which is located in the basement of the courthouse.

 

 

DEADLINE TO REQUEST VOTE-BY-MAIL BALLOT

The deadline to request a Vote-by-Mail ballot for the 2024 Presidential Prefernece Primary Election is Saturday, March 9, 2024. You may request by calling 850-547-1107; at www.holmeselectionsfl.gov; or in person at 201 N. Oklahoma St., Ste. 102, Bonifay, FL32425

VERY IMPORTANT: Please make sure that your signature on file in the Supervisor of Elections Office is current when voting by mail. Florida Statute 101.68 requires that the signature on the vote-by-mail voter certificate must match the voter signature on file in the Supervisor of Elections office.

 

 

CANVASS VOTE BY MAIL BALLOTS

The Holmes County Canvassing Board will convene in the office of the Supervisor of Elections, 201 N. Oklahoma St., Ste. 102, Bonifay, Florida to canvass vote-by-mail ballots on the following dates:

Monday, March 4, 2024, at 9:30 AM

Monday, March 11, 2024, at 9:30 AM

Monday, March 18, 2024, at 9:30 AM

Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM

Vote-by-Mail Certificate Envelopes for the 2024 Presidential Prefernece Primary Election will be available for public inspection one hour prior to each Canvassing Board Meeting. In order to view Vote-By-Mail ballot certificates on Tuesday, March 19 2024, after 2:00 PM, you must be present.

CANVASS PROVISIONAL BALLOTS/VOTE-BY-MAIL CURE AFFIDAVITS

 

The Holmes County Canvassing Board will convene in the office of the Supervisor of Elections, 201 N. Oklahoma St., Ste. 102, Bonifay, Florida on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. to canvass provisional ballots cast and Vote by Mail Cure Affidavits in the 2024 Presidential Preference Primary Election.

CANVASS 10-DAY UOCAVA BALLOTS

The Canvassing Board will convene on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 2:00 PM to canvass any overseas ballots received and to certify the 2024 Presidential Preference Primary Election to the Department of State.

AUDIT OF 2024 PRESIDENTIAL PREFERENCE PRIMARY ELECTION VOTING SYSTEM

 

The Holmes County Canvassing Board will convene in the office of the Supervisor of Elections, 201 N. Oklahoma St., Ste. 102, Bonifay, Florida on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 9:30 AM to conduct an audit of the voting equipment used in the 2024 Presidential Preference Primary Election.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

Redistricting Update:

Our office has updated districts due to the decennial census.  All voters in Precincts 1 thru 5 and a portion of Precinct 6 have been mailed voter information cards with the updated Congressional District 2 status.  All 8 precincts located in Holmes County are now within the boundaries of Congressional District 2.

Governor DeSantis signed SB2C into law 4/22/2022.
